Like a lot of Wright’s homes, the Oscar B. Balch House is architecturally important for being a design accomplished at the top of Wright’s exploration of the Prairie School motion. The Young House is another residence that was built in the 1870s but later transformed by Wright within the Nineties. Though originally built in the Tudor Revival type, Wright added a wide outside porch and fireplaces to the lounge and master bedrooms.

The constructing, which underwent an intensive renovation in 2017, is considered by some to be Wright’s most essential project from the first decade of the 20th century. In 2019, Unity Temple was amongst eight notable Wright buildings to be honored as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
